- story structure - Heroes Journey as example - write synopsis, treatment, or bullet point list. - draw 4 pages of thumbnails - make some layouts. (figure out book dimensions) - Art direction. Find reference and imitate a frame. - Expression sheet, Modelsheets. - Anatomy exercise
If anyone has something else they think should be next then let me know. 85.7% of the next candidates fill me with dread. Looks like a really good list to me.

@wizardofkitty - This is a great start of a turnaround. The head proportions look good in comparison to each other but the arms, jacket, and legs all change length in each view. I'd suggest keeping those feet flat on the ground so you can really tell how tall she is. I also see potential problems with how the front of the clothes stick out of the jacket on the profile shot but in the front shot it seems like they are not sticking out at all. Now for the most important part, making the 3/4 front and 3/4 back views. These are really important views unless you only plan on seeing your character front on or profile like this. Plus the 3/4 views are where you really see where your problems are happening. Let me know if you want me to do a paintover to help point out what I'm talking about. Ohhh. I see what you're talking about now that I've taken a good look at the clothes. I never realized that I was drawing vests/coats incorrectly in side profile drawings I've done of people, so I'm glad someone pointed it out so I can fix it in the future. Thanks so much for the critique!

Glad this thread isn't locked! S'half of the turnaround, the other half isn't rendered and is the character in military uniform for reference in story. Same poses. Excellent challenge!

Supsup! Thanks for reopening the thread, and the suggestion that got it going! I'm new to this forum, and would like to use this thread specifically as a way to help discipline myself to keep the pen moving, and my eye on the prize! Sorry this is only a sketch turnaround, but when I saw this section I couldn't help but jump in!! So here's Xanh, the protagonist to my comic Rune. I'm still undecided on how that ponytail is going to look exactly. There are a few iterations of it in past drawings. I know I broke the guides a bit, but I was rushing to beat bedtime. I have work in the morning!

Cool concept tongman, I really like your style. Glad to see a new contribution. I think I need to take another crack at this challenge. I've been letting the pencil stagnate way too long. Thanks for the inspiration.
