Post Quick and Dirty way for comics to get in iTunes
Say you're wishing you could get your comic in the app store.

You've considered the 30% Apple takes. You've considered offering your app for free. You've considered other platforms like graphic.ly, but you still want in that app store.

Well, quick and dirty way:

http://prmac.com/release-id-20917.htm

It's not very full featured, but if you want to get your feet wet. It's $27. You probably spend that much on pencils each year.

Not nearly the same as developing your own, or getting in with a company like Robot Comics or graphic.ly. But ya know... $27...

Post Re: Quick and Dirty way for comics to get on the iPhone
This is only for iPad apps, not iPhones or iPod Touches, as far as I can tell.

Oh snap. Now that I look closer, everything else on the CodeStore page says "iPad and iPhone", and the Comic app omits the word "iPhone". Good catch Niki.

No prob! I figured I'd point it out, since there are so few iPad owners versus iPhone/Touch owners. It might make it a little less worth the price. For iPad, all you really need to do is make a PDF available and they'll be able to read it pretty much the same way. :)

I was backtracking this link and noticed that they have a new product out called "Storybook App"-- which might suit comics, albeit only in a Panel view mode for Iphones--

I can't direct link to the product, but you can see it about halfway down this page:
http://www.codestore.co.uk/index.html

Story Book App for iPhone and iPad **Updated Feb 2011**

Although it's primarily aimed at creating a children's book, I don't see why you couldn't adapt it to have each page representing a panel--
The downside of course is that it isn't nearly as sexy as Comixology or Graphic.ly's interface-- but hey, it's also 27.99, you get what you pay for.

I agree with Niki above-- Codestore really perked up my interest when I first saw it, but the fact that it's only for Ipads was a quick turn off for me-- The Ipad really hasn't penetrated as a mass market device, it just doesn't seem worth it...Now, if they had a combo Iphone/Ipad code up there, that'd be a different story.

Anyone have other quick and dirty Itunes methods out there?

We chop our comic up into single frame jpegs and put it in an app we wrote ourselves.
