I have a question for you all...
Sadly I'm not computer savy enough to design my own website (yet) though I do have a fairly good idea of what I'd like and I have a basic knowledge of what all goes into making a great site (thanks to your forum!). I have resources and an extremely large server avaliable to me, but I have no graphic designing skills. At all. I'm a traditional artist to a fault. Tablets make me sneeze, though I really appreciate those who CAN wield them.

How many of you have knuckled down and learned it yourself, and how many have hired someone else to design it? What is the average cost and is it worth it? And do you guys know of anyone?

My goal is to have my own site by the end of the summer at least, for both business and personal art (graphic novel included) that I can host myself.

I would say it's very, very much worth it. You do not want your image on the web to look anything less than professional, especially if business is involved. It'll really cost you less sweat and tears to hire someone who knows, than to try to learn enough on your own, except if you have a true desire to do so. There are a lot of really talented kids out there who can build a site for you for a rate that's fair to both of you. They can be ferreted out on deviantART for instance, but there's also guru.com for another approach.
