Post Feedback on iPad app?
I figured the critique forum was a good place for this :) I just released an app for Malaak: Angel of Peace, which can be downloaded for free from this page.
This first version of the app is very simple and consists simply of the comic pages, with one cool added feature that takes advantage of touch technology: tapping on Lebanese words in the pages brings up a little pop-up explaining them. No more scrolling to the bottom of the page or flipping to the end of the book to read language notes!

If you own an iPad or similar device, I would be very grateful if I could have feedback on the app, as it's the first of its kind I or my developer attempt. If you install it, please let me know what you think, anything that doesn't work for you, anything you think would be a good addition... I'm open to the possibility of making a paid app with special, iPad-only features, so if anything of the sort comes to mind, I'll be happy to hear about it.
I have a feeling touch tablets are going to revolutionize, or at least create a whole new playgrounds for comics. :D

Oh, nice! I'll be sure to give your app a shout-out on the IM&L page at some point (we always link to 2 new "digital comics" every month). Congrats! I don't have an iPad myself but the idea of the pop-ups sounds great.

I don't have an iPad, so I can't really help you there.
But your comment to not having to scroll down/jump to the back to reach language notes I do find interesting... I am planning on having a section of my comic in a different language so it's kinda been in and out of my mind how to handle it for English readers.

That's fair enough :) You can use image mapping to have a similar effect on your comic, if you can use this kind of html where you post it. To show you what I mean, go to my website cedarseed.com and hover the cursor over any of the artifacts there. It's a useful trick, only problem is that I don't know how universal it is. For instance someone browsing on an ipad or a phone would probably not be able to see them, since there's no hover anymore. I myself have to start removing it from parts of my site where I rely too much on this effect, and keep it for stuff that is not necessary, if that makes sense.

Ah! The title tag? Can't believe I didn't think of that, but I must admit I don't use a lot of image mapping. Nonetheless, I do see how it can be useful.
I'm going to miss the hover mode if they remove it completely...
Also, nice design on the front page there.
