 Re: Introduce Yourself Thread!
Hey everyone!
My name's Brandon, I've been working on a GN for only a few months now, but it's a format I've chosen for a story I've been working on for the past six years. I finally decided this would be the best format for it.
I'm working on concepts so far but soon I hope to have some stuff to show!

Hi everybody! My name is Brian Taylor and I'm an artist/animator. I'm currently working on a sci-fi/fantasy graphic novel called MYTH which I hope to get into bookstores someday soon. I recently took about a year long internet hiatus while I worked on the book, and now I'm back, and a little closer to my goal! You can check it out at... http://mythgraphicnovel.comI also have a portfolio site you can view at... http://brianharoldtaylor.com

 Re: Introduce Yourself Thread!
Hey, there. My name's Tom Pappalardo. I'm a graphic designer/cartoonist. I've been self-publishing stuff for close to 20 years.
I've been working on a project called Broken Lines for (too) many years. It's a cross between straight prose and sequential art, plus other stuff, so I tend to call it an "illustrated novel" more than a "graphic novel." It's basically just barely unclassifiable enough to be unmarketable. ha. I'm currently about eight chapters into a 12 or 13 chapter story (around 260 pages, I think). I've released the story in 30-40 page chunks since 2006, more to set attainable goals for myself & have something to share with friends and reviewers than to actually worry about selling comic books.
I also divert my attention from completing Broken Lines by working on a weekly comic strip, The Optimist.
Links are in my signature. The first two chapters of Broken Lines are online (I'll add some pages to the Show & Tell subforum).
Nicetomeetyou!

 Re: Introduce Yourself Thread!
Hello! My name is Jessa Sininger. I am an animator by profession and an artist on the side. A couple of the projects I've had the opportunity to be a part of have been Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland and Gears of War 2. I have a love for art, coffee, and writing!
Currently I am working on 2 graphic novels (Thorns and Goblinnapped) and 1 comic pitch (The Clockwatcher's Apprentice). Thorns is slated to be released in less than a year as a webcomic. I hope in lesser time though but with the day job it sure gets tough. The first book is 150 pages long with all the final pencils currently done and half inked. Color is the last step then it's ready for launch. I made the decision to finish all pages in the first book before releasing online with the regular update of two pages every week. I look foreword to sharing some of the content and getting to know the other wonderful creators here. Happy to see a forum for like artists working toward the same goals.

Hey Gang,
My name is Matt, I am a professional graphic designer/web devleoper by day. I do some other things too.
My webcomic project is called The Trouble and Dangerous, it's a goofy super-hero type thing. I've been posting a page a week since early May. It's in more of a traditional comic format, ideally there will be about 10-12 chapters/issues that will span a larger story arch (which is mostly figured out). I've just about completed the first chapter.

Hello everyone, the name's Michael-Vincent, but you can call me Michael or Mike. How is everyone here?
While I'm new here, I'm working on a webcomic project called The Rapid Fireballs after almost eight years of procrastination and laziness.
Also, I came across reMIND and this forum at another website I often visit.

 Re: Introduce Yourself Thread!
Hey everyone. My name IS James, I added the 1000 because at any given time there are probably at least 1000 people named James within a mile radius.....of everyone.
I probably have the least experience of everyone here. I did okay with art as a youngster, never had faith in it as a career choice though. Neither did my family, lol. I majored in it in college but instability and military "obligation" had me in and out of school. I eventually left school all together to wok full time. I just couldn't afford school without a 9 to 5. Unfortunately I found out that that 9 to 5 was actually more like 7 to 10pm 6 days a week, and it definitely wasn't a desk job (home installation). So my school ambitions fell be the wayside. After wasting three years on that, they sent me packing (possibly illegally according to my arbitration case), I've now found myself with a whole lot of debt and time on my hands! I started trying to get back into art purely for stress relief, but later got the crazy idea of a graphic novel project.
I had tried a joint venture with a guy before, but it never went anywhere. Plus, my abilities were pretty weak and I didn't have much time to hone them. As I began to get more comfortable things went in a different direction for me as I accepted that job, so once again my personal 9real) dreams were placed on hold. Now I don't have much of a choice. So I'm trying like hell to make the best of it.
I joined this forum because I think this is the type of place that can help to keep me invested, seeing as there are many other people setting out on this difficult yet intriguing journey. I also joined because Jason Brubaker, you are the shizz. Your reMind journey and blog have been THE NUMBER 1 source of guidance and motivation to keep working on my own project. I'm hoping to be able to help you just as much as you've helped me over the last 6 months. This forum fits exactly what I've been looking for and I hope to use it for my first critiques. Everybody loved my artwork as a kid, though I was still very unsure and critical of it. Now that I'm 30 and I've drawn more in the past 6 months than I have for the past 7 or 8 years, I know the kiddy gloves are off and the "aww that's soo cool" responses won't be there, so it will be an adjustment for me. I hope to be able to have good discussions with all of you and hope to have some work up soon.
By the way, my project is titled "Heroes Are Everywhere" and I'm about 26 pages in (pencils). After I scan them all in, along with some of my turnarounds for archiving purposes, I plan to share some of them here to show a step-by-step progression. See you all soon. Thanks again for creating this awesome forum.

Hey everybody I've been 'making' comics for a long time, but I never had the patience to draw and now I'm a writer who doodles. Jason's posts (and comic) have been really inspiring and this forum's got a lot of talent so I thought I'd join the conversation. I love collaborating, so if any of you have any projects you wanna share, please please please send me a PM

 Re: Introduce Yourself Thread!
Hello my name is Daniel, As long as I have been drawing I wanted to put together a comic. After following several great webcomics and especially after following Jason grow his project from a blog to a published GN, I knew I needed to get on it. My current project is called "The Return". It's brand new and I only have a few pages up at this time. I really thinks its important to be a part of community like this if I want to improve and make the project better. I really look foward to the conversation and seeing what everyone else is doing. Also, is great to see that some of the webcomics and projects I follow also post on this forum.

 Re: Introduce Yourself Thread!
Hello, My name is Kevin Gentilcore and I am a cartoonist/comic creator. This website has been so useful to me while I work on my webcomic. Speaking of that: I am the creator of Teenage Love Zombies http://www.teenagelovezombies.com, a rock n roll horror romance comic. It update every Wednesday. I have been posting new pages for over a year now. I just updated the look of the site and the navigation and am getting ready for the Halloween season! Here is a more recent page if you are curious. I think this comic is a lot of fun so if you like horror and some humor mixed with an old 50's rock an roll vibe and some zombies check it out. Also just wanted to say thanks to Jason and everybody on here who has made this site so resourceful and useful. The webcomics community has been so great!

 Re: Introduce Yourself Thread!
Hello everyone, My name is Bianca Akhidime and I am an aspiring comic artist. I have loved comics ever since I can remember and I find that I'm the kind of person that thinks visually. I read books and my imagination takes over painting worlds and envisioning characters as if in an animated film. It's been a passion of mine for over 10 years to create a comic of my own. I hope that through this journey I will become a stronger artist and a great storyteller. My deviantART page can be found here http://lancermonna.deviantart.com

 Re: Introduce Yourself Thread!
Hey everyone,
I'm Gabrielle and I'm just starting to explore graphic novels and making them. I took a graphic novel class in college and it was a real fun class. I'm currently deliberating about making a GN with the aim to explore rebellion from different systems. I have so many ideas, but I need to come up with a main theme. I also want to figure out the artistic side of GN making.

 Re: Introduce Yourself Thread!
Hi, I'm Bill, aka @epicpoodle on twitter and http://epicpoodle.deviantart.com, but still a noob on forums, so bear with me. I've been a writer since I was 12 (which was LONG ago), but have only started devoting myself to visual art in the last year or so. I'm doing everything I can to get my art up to the level of my writing, but I still have a way to go. I've done a bit of writing on writing on my website http://billgathen.com, but not in a long time. Really looking forward to the Making Comics podcast! - Bill

 Re: Introduce Yourself Thread!
Zollmaniac here.
So, a little about me... I have a distinct passion for writing and finding what I believe to be good, solid writing in others (I suppose I could have summed that up with 'Reading,' but I didn't). I'm very interested in graphic novels and would even like to make one of my own sometime in the future, but for now I'm focusing on the written word.
Besides writing (which I should do more of), I enjoy video games and spending time with my family.
Unicorns and long walks are nice too, but don't get a large percentage of my time.
Since I started writing seriously, I've been looking for a community of like minded folks. Don't know if I'll find that here or not, but hey, its worth a shot!

 Re: Introduce Yourself Thread!
Hey! I'm Justine, I had an idea for a graphic novel about two years back, but only just started delving into proper concepts a couple months ago. I've been doing lots of written and drawn concepts for story and characters. I'm pretty excited how it's all going to far, hopefully I can get some cool feedback on the premise of it while I'm here!
I'm 20 and have almost finished my Game Development course at college, but I'm going back to a traditional art school next year because I believe I need to refine my 2D skills. I hope to publish my novel some day and make some pocket money out of it, hopefully (:
Nice to meet you all!
